Tradisyon's plated meal

Dear

Of course, we can't leave Azalea without trying the food!

There's so much to love about the Azalea's Tradisyon (resto). The plated course meals are superb (see that? ain’t that pretty?).   But I love the breakfast buffet more. I love the ambiance--it's sunny and it’s not intimidating.  I love the cereals bar, which I personally think makes a breakfast buffet complete. I love the DIY eggs counter, the chef just made the fluffiest omelettes. And most of all, I found love in that potato dish we ate one morning. I didn't get the name, however. Sigh.  Whatever that dish is, it's love and it will keep me coming back to Azalea’s buffet table.

Dear

Have you seen the acrobats of Ibex from NGC’s Wild Case Files? You know those creatures that climb vertical walls? I swear the kids of Bridal Veil Falls along Kennon Road are like them! They stick to the walls! It’s interesting enough to see a waterfall along Kennon Road, and these kids make it crazier! I love it!

Baguio, you really are full of surprises!

aboard the Balatoc minecart!

Dear ,

Azalea arranged a tour for us and we were brought to the Balatoc Mines for an extraordinary tour.

You know me, I would normally prefer to just lurk in the pines whenever I’m in Baguio. But this tour sounded interesting enough. And before I knew it, we were inside the cave and drilling and dynamite blasting assaulted our ears! Not my idea of fun but I tell you, it had been really scary and well, fun. Hehe.

Look at this, we got to ride this cool mine carts on our way out! Yeah hehehe! My Highlight of the tour.

pretty packaging!

Hello

Look how pretty! You know I’m a sucker for cute packaging and all. Love that Azalea concocted their own scent (Verbena + Jasmine) instead of the usual hotel shampoo/conditioner mix. Bath gels are also included in their personal care package and that made me really happy. Teehee. Although I personally think that they should add slippers to the package, I’m pretty impressed with Azalea’s personal care kit. It’s complete and very personalized.

the living area

Hi

We spent the last weekend in Baguio City. Couldn’t be happier. I’ve missed it.

So we stayed in Azalea Residences, a super fancy hotel along Leonard Wood Road, and we were given a posh 3–bedroom suite complete with living, kitchen and dining area. Each room has its own LCD TV, but company and I decided to watch Paranormal Activity 3 in the living area. While Ada and Robbie jumped, fidgeted and shrieked, Christian, Glenn and I had a grand time watching/shooting them. Ding missed a lot :P

We’re spooked and stressed after watching the film, and I’m almost scared to close my eyes. Thanks to Azalea’s super comfy and soft bed and sheets, I slept like a baby.

horcrux cave?

Dear

Sometimes the sun would peek and check up on us.  But most of our time touring the islands, it was raining. But sun or no sun, El Nido took my breath away. I even came to appreciate the rain.  You see, it cast mysterious mists around the karsts, making it appear like a scene from a movie. I was actually expecting Harry coming out of it, triumphantly clutching Voldemort’s horcrux in one hand, and leading Albus on the other.

Dear

Well, I saved the best for last. My last plane ticket for the year brought me to El Nido, Palawan. People often associate El Nido with high end resorts and such, but really, it’s as simple and unassuming as your favorite budget getaway. The locals here are so friendly and the view – unforgettable. We stayed at the more quiet side of the town – Corong corong. And we wake up to this view every single day.

More postcards coming!

golf course by the sea?

Dear

We went back to Bohol after a year. And as always, we avoided the crowd and the nightlife. We chose Doljo, the opposite side of Alona. This town has its own beauty and charm. I like it when the tides are low and the banks are exposed. It makes this side of town look like a giant golf course by the sea. So cool. :>

Can’t believe that this beauty caused death and destruction back in ‘91. This is the crater lake of Mt. Pinatubo.

Dear

We left Burgos town to catch the sunset at Bangui. We arrived a little early and had to wait for hours until the skies finally showed its colors. The long wait was all worth it. Just like at Manila Bay, the sunset here in Bangui is poetic.

Hi

If Scotland has Neist Point, we have the Racuh A Payaman in Batanes, and this, Burgos town in Ilocos Norte. Not as grand, but  definitely as breathtaking.

This church is so beautiful. One of the best i've seen. And massive! It's so big that i can only show you the top part. Go visit it when you have time. It’s the Basilica de San Martin de Tours in Taal Town.

Dear

It has been weeks, but my thoughts are still filled with Malapascua memories. There’s something about its simplicity that is so unforgettable. I love the peace and good vibes, even along its strip of bars and restos.

Let’s not forget about the beach. Here, the sky meets the seas.

A magical moment

Dear

One entry scratched off my bucket list: find the milky way. Well, I wasn’t actually looking for it that night, but it just magically showed up. I always thought (and knew?) that I’d cry when I see it. But I didn’t. I just stared.

It was so surreal.
