Roof Deck, Microtel Mall Of Asia

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Hi

I leaned into the railing, look at that ship and felt like I was somewhere else. It seems to be floating.

Felt like I was literally at the edge of the globe.

*Snap* That’s our Manila Bay, viewed from the roof deck of Microtel MOA. :)

Hello !

You've been working so darn hard, can you turn away from that PC for a while and come with me? Let me take you here. Somewhere in Manila where the sun sets slowly. Where the crepuscular rays are  spectacular and the sunset is, as always, incomparable. This lady over here, all she need is her bike. And a few minutes.

My dear Manila,

A lot has been said about you. A lot has been done. You’ve been abused. Used.

But still you give us this. The best view. You give us simple joys. And that, my friend, can never be taken away from you.

Breakfast Buffet at Millie’s Microtel, Pasay City

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Dear

Breakfast at Millie’s was stylishly hearty. The food was superb and passed my standards with flying bolting colors (I’m very easy to please). But what caught my interest really were the items on display at the resto – vintage perfumes, ornate clutches and purses, sunglasses, lighters and passports. Apparently, these are Millie’s (the hotel president’s mother) collection from her travels around the world. Now I seriously want these glasses. Looked to me like something worn while watching an opera. Taray! You can tell from her collections that the lady traveled in style!

Millie’s breakfast buffet was completely satisfying – both to the stomach and my eyes.

Now that’s what I call fashionably yummy.

Dinner at Microtel Mall Of Asia, Pasay City

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

Dear Dear 2,

We had a feast under the stars, above the busy metro! The setting was actually pretty romantic. No distracting sounds, just the tinkle of silverware and soft chatter of acquaintances and newfound friends. Yummy sounds if you will ask me.

But the real star(s) of the show are the food! Here is a photo of my very first salmon. Again, am not a big seafood fan, but this just made me crave for one right now! The fish was cooked to perfection (perfect for me is when I forget that it’s actually a fish hehe), the mashed potato and butter sauce are the perfect sides to this dish. It was really good.

Another noteworthy dish is the Baby Back Ribs which, I think, is everybody’s favorite. Apparently, this is also Millie’s Restaurant’s (Microtel MOA’s in house resto) bestseller.

Christian said it was one of the most beautiful dinner he’s had. I would have to agree.

Let’s meet here sometime.

Dear

That would be my favorite part of the room: the window seat! I can stay in there forever and have my coffee, read a book or just enjoy the view.  If you are planning to see the Pyromusical competition, I’m telling you, this would be the most romantic spot [and maybe the roof deck].

Dear

One nice guy said he’d just go to this place to relieve stress. He brought us here and we didn’t argue. We stepped out of the roof deck and suddenly forgot we were in Manila! The white walls, floors and paints contrasting the bluest skies and bay made me think I was somewhere in Greece.

One night at Microtel MOA, this is life :D

sky spectacle!

Dear

Never will I get tired of watching this extravaganza on my chocolate skies!

It’s the fireworks season again and you bet we would be there! There is something romantic about them that is so hard to resist. I and enjoyed it so much last year, that we made sure to watch it for the next years to come.

It’s UK vs Spain last night. I had fun as usual. First off, I love the atmosphere. It’s filled with childlike anticipation. Next the crowd: from babies, to toddlers, to young couples, to lolos and lolas, all are gathered, bonding and expecting to be wowed by these lights that dances with music. And then of course the fireworks. These are no ordinary, amateurish fireworks, mind you. These are best from every country that’s participating. So imagine the grandiose.

So yes, sometime last night I found my mouth hanging open again for more than 5 seconds [stars and fireworks have that effect on me] when I realized that I need to take pictures to send to you. Pardon that shot [again], you know I’m too lazy to set up my own tripod [and I really like the “sabog” look heehee].

Who gets my vote last night? Well Spain gave me that shot. And well, “We Are The World” had me. Sheeesh.
